Alpine acinos ( Acinos alpinus )

Acinos ( Acinos ) is a genus of flowering plants of the mint family ( Lamiaceae). They are native to southern Europe and western Asia.

Description

It is a or evergreen, perennial herbaceous plants achieve maximum plant height of 50 centimeters. They grow bushy and branched. Some species become woody something. The leaves are decussate, short -stalked and ovate to elliptic, entire or serrated front.

The short- stalked flowers are to lively in the upper leaf axils. The crown is tubular with trilobal lower lip. The plants are aromatic scented peppermint similar and contain essential oils as the related savory.

Types (selection)

There are about ten (up to 41) species in the genus acinos ( Acinos, in part earlier to the genus Calamintha counted ). Today the species by some authors are also made to the genus Clinopodium L.. Here is a selection of the styles:
