Ada Sari

Ada Sari, actually Schayer Jadwiga, also Jadwiga Szayer ( born June 29, 1886 in Wadowitz, Galicia, † 12 July 1968 Ciechocinek, Poland) was a major opera singer.

Ada Sari studied at the Music Academy in Warsaw and after 1909 in Rome she had a dazzling debut appearance, the soprano joined at the beginning of the 20th century in their careers to the most important opera houses in the world. She was engaged, inter alia, at La Scala.

Her repertoire included Wagner, Verdi and Gounod.

Between 1929 and 1965 she held regularly in Marienbad.

In her honor in Nowy Sacz instead of Ada Sari International Vocal Competition of Art.
