Adam Fawer

Adam Fawer ( * 1970 in New York City ) is an American economist and writer. With his debut novel zero ( original title: Improbable ) he succeeded in 2005, an international bestseller.

Fawer grew up in New York. During his childhood made ​​him a disease of the eyes, which almost led to blindness, several hospital stays. After finishing school, he attended the University of Pennsylvania to study economics and statistics, from which he graduated with a master's degree in statistics. For several years he worked on the development of mathematical models. However, boredom led him back to the University and he graduated from the Stanford Business School the title of Masters of Business Administration. Fawer returned to New York and worked for various companies, including Sony Music, JP Morgan and finally as Chief Operating Officer for the internet platform About.com.

The news of the cancer of a good friend resulted in his own words a turning point in his life. He recalled the importance that had the books during his childhood for him.
