Adam Rhys Jones

Adam Rhys Jones ( born March 8, 1981 in Abercrave, Powys ) is a Welsh rugby union player. He plays as a pillar for the Welsh national team and the Ospreys.

Jones began his career at Neath RFC, which is since 2003 player for the Ospreys regional selection, to which it belongs since the introduction. He reached with the U21 national team of Wales the semifinals of the World Cup 2002. In August 2003, he ran for the first time on the Welsh manor selection, opponent was England. His first and only attempt in the national jersey he presented, in 2004 against Scotland.

Jones was part of the team that could win the 2005 Grand Slam in the Six Nations. This was followed by numerous other missions, so it was logical also nominated for the 2007 World Cup. He ran it up against Canada and Australia.

Under the new national coach Warren Gatland, Jones has again in 2008 to win the Grand Slam with Wales in the Six Nations. He was inducted into the tournament in four of five games. In 2009 he was nominated by Ian McGeechan for the tour of the British and Irish Lions to South Africa. He came in the first two games for use, due to an injury he missed the final game of the series, however.

Because of his hairstyle, he is referred to, together with his team-mate Duncan Jones as "Hair Bears".
