Adams Express Building

The Adams Express Building is a 33 - storey skyscraper in the financial district of Manhattan in New York City. It was built in 1912 according to plans by Francis H. Kimball. Architecturally, the building is counted 57-61 Broadway to Chicago school on the property. It is located south of the American Express Building and in direct proximity to Wall Street.

History

The vice ascended to the financial performance of Adams Express Company was planning in 1910 to move to a better building. From the originally planned 10 floors were in the course of further planning more and more until it was finally reached to more than 30. The construction costs amounted to 2 million U.S. dollars. Kimball's design was guided by Florentine architecture, especially when building closure.

During the Black Tom explosion, the building suffered greater damage, a total of 300 windows were broken.
