Adams is an impact crater in the east of the Moon front, southeast of Mare Fecunditatis, southeast of the crater Petavius ​​and south of Legendre. The crater is moderately eroded largely flat inside.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1970 after the British astronomer John Couch Adams and the American astronomer Charles Hitchcock Adams and Walter Sydney Adams.
