Adamstown ( Pennsylvania Dutch: Adamschteddel ) is a statuierte as Borough settlement in Lancaster County and Berks County in the southeast of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

Population

A significant part of the population are descendants of Adam City's German immigrants. Even today, Pennsylvania - German or German is spoken.

According to the census in 2000 were 99.09 % White (1.00% Hispanics ), 0.08 % African American, 0.25 % Asian, 0.42 % Other, 0.17 % are mixed race.

In the 501 households lived in 29.5 % of cases, children under 18 years. In 59.1 % lived only married couples, 7.2 % of households led by women with no husband. In 29.9 % of households were living non- families. The average family size was 2.85.

22.9% of the population were under 18, 5.6% were 18 to 24 years old. 33.3 % were 25-44, 23.3% from 45 to 64, and 14.9 % were older than 65 years. The average age was given as 37. For every 100 females were 94.7 men at age 18 and over, the ratio was 100 to 91.9.
