Adil Shah

Adil Shah Afshar Ali Qoli actually (Persian عادل شاه افشار, † May 20, 1749 ) was Shah of Persia in the period 1747-1748.

He was the eldest son of Ebrahim Khan and was appointed governor of Mashhad by Nadir Shah in 1737. Death

Adil Shah's rule ended after less than a year on 29 September 1748., He was deposed by his own brother Ebrahim Shah Afshar through a coup. Ebrahim had him blinded and appointed six months later in Tabriz as the new ruler. But in the east Shah Ruch had risen to new rulers and defeated Ebrahim. So Adil Shah Ebrahim and were brought to Mashhad. Ebrahim died on the way and Adil Shah was tortured to death.
