Adolf Maislinger

Adolf Maislinger ( born December 9, 1903 in Munich, † April 26, 1985 in Munich, also Adi Maislinger ) was a German prisoner in the Dachau concentration camp.

Biography

Maislinger originating from a social-democratic parents' house, was a professional machinist. He became a member of the Socialist Working Youth ( SAJ ) and the union. He initially joined the SPD and moved from there in 1931 with the KPD. In the early 1930s he was involved in street battles with the SA. After the seizure of power by the Nazis, he was in hiding under the cover name " Bertl " worked as a courier. Maislinger fled to Switzerland and returned in 1934 on the orders of the Communist Party returned to Germany, where he was arrested at the border. Because of " conspiracy to commit high treason" Maislinger was sentenced in 1935 to eight years in prison. On September 8, 1942, the Gestapo issued an arrest order and shortly thereafter was his imprisonment in the concentration camp at Dachau. Munich Communist Party comrades helped him to a post in the disinfection command. The items associated with the relatively large freedom of movement allowed him again in the camp resistance to act and to save fellow prisoners.

After the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp Maislinger was briefly a member of the first used by the American occupation authorities Councillor of Munich. In late summer 1946, he was briefly detained without reason by the American occupation authorities. After his release, he married and worked until his retirement as a civil servant in Munich. He was a member of the OTV and the VVN.

Maislinger became involved in the memorial of the Dachau concentration camp and gave his experiences of groups of Action Reconciliation on. In Munich, the " Adi- Maislinger Street " is named after him.
