Adrian Cioroianu

Adrian Mihai Cioroianu ( born January 5, 1967 in Craiova, Dolj county ) is a Romanian politician. He was on 5 April 2007 to April 15, 2008 Foreign Minister of Romania from 2002 to 2009 Member of the Partidul Naţional Liberal.

After his study of history in Bucharest and Canada Cioroianu lectured at the University of Bucharest. To date, he writes for several newspapers and magazines and has also worked as a presenter on television.

In 2004 he was elected to the Senate, where he worked on several committees for the refurbishment of the Ceauşescu era.

In the wake of Romania's accession to the European Union, he was from January 1 to April 2, 2007 at the European Parliament, where he was a member of the Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe.

On 5 April 2007 he was as Ovidiu Ioan Silaghi Minister in the new cabinet of Prime Minister Tăriceanu. Cristian Silviu Buşoi and Horia -Victor Toma also moved on to the European Parliament for Cioroianu and Silaghi.

In April 2008 Cioroianu resigned from his ministerial post after it had passed away in January of the same year Daniel Claudiu Crulic, a Romanian citizen in a Polish hospital on a hunger strike. Crulic had denied a his alleged theft. Cioroianu and the Romanian officials of the diplomatic mission in Poland had been accused in this connection, to have not used enough for Crulic.
