Adrian Tomine

Adrian Tomine ( born May 31, 1974 in Sacramento ) is an American comic book artist, known primarily for his regular illustrations in the magazines The New Yorker and Time Magazine. He also produced two album covers for the band Eels.

Life and work

His series Optic Nerve, in which he mixes fiction and autobiographical elements, he began in 1991 with 16 years and drove them initially self-published. Since 1994 it is published by Drawn and Quarterly. In the first eight volumes to 2001 each several short stories have been combined. After a pause, in which he completed a degree in English literature at the University of Berkeley, Tomine working since 2004 on the series. Adrian Tomines works to be translated into French, Italian, Spanish and Japanese language. In three volumes German Reprodukt are published.
