Adriano Bernardini

Adriano Bernardini ( born August 13, 1942 in Piandimeleto ) is a diplomat of the Holy See.

Life

The prefect of the Prefecture for the Economic Affairs of the Holy See, Egidio Vagnozzi, ordained him a priest on 19 March 1972. Pope John Paul II appointed him on 20 August 1992 Titular per hac vice of Falerii and Apostolic Nuncio to Bangladesh.

He received his episcopal consecration of the Cardinal Secretary of State, Cardinal Angelo Sodano, on 15 November of the same year; Co-consecrators were Josip Uhač, secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, and Remigio Ragonesi, Auxiliary Bishop of Rome.

On 15 June 1996 he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Madagascar, Mauritius and the Seychelles. On 24 July 1999, he was Apostolic Nuncio in Thailand, Singapore and Cambodia and appointed apostolic delegate to Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, Malaysia and Laos. On 26 April 2003, he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Argentina. Benedict XVI. appointed him on 15 November 2011 Apostolic Nuncio to Italy and San Marino.
