Adventure Time - Adventure Time with Finn and Jake is an American animated television series produced by Cartoon Network Studios since 2010. The pilot episode was in 2008 in the series Random! Cartoons shown as one of many short films for Nickelodeon. After the sequence was more popular on the Internet to Cartoon Network decided to produce a series.
Content
As a dog family found the newborn Finn one day in a forest, they took him and so was a dog named Jake, who has magical powers, his best friend and adoptive brother. Finn and his friend Jake would like to be real heroes. Whether Princess Bubblegum is in need or when the evil Ice King is once again devises a sinister plan - Finn and Jake are always there when you need them and they take on any challenge. Every now and then they have unfortunately save the other islanders of the consequences of their unwanted intentions. Thus, the two have inadvertently created along with Princess Bubblegum in the episode Panic at the slumber party with a mob of zombies that place the residents at the Candy Kingdom in fear and terror.
Characters
- Finn is a 12, later 13 year old boy who loves nothing more than adventure. He would like to be a hero and has vowed long ago to help anyone who is in need, and to do good deeds. When he was little, he was raised by a dog family, which also includes his present dog friend Jake is one that has magical powers.
- Jake is a 28 year old dog that has magical powers. His powers allow him to shrink to grow, to bend or to transform themselves into any shape. Just like his best friend Finn he loves to experience exciting adventures, and by his strength he can Finn often help when fighting against someone.
- Princess Bubblegum is a physically 18 year old princess, which consists of chewing gum. They also ruled the Candy Kingdom. She is very intelligent, she often demonstrates. She is good friends with Finn, who always helps her with problems.
- Lady Rainicorn is half rainbow and half unicorn and Jake's girlfriend. You can persons and objects color and belongs to Princess Bubblegum.
- The Ice King is around 1000 years old and is constantly trying to kidnap the various princesses of Ooo to force her to marry him. He has magical powers and can freeze things, produce lightning, flying with his beard and create snow monster. His biggest enemies are Finn and Jake, as they try to stop him always when he accomplishes sinister deeds. He was originally a man who through a magical crown his fiancée and his mind lost even before the nuclear war, but received the magical skills that have made him survive. His motive is his loneliness, and he envies Finn and Jake for their friendship.
- Marceline is the 1000 year old vampire queen. You frightened people always just for fun. As a result of the henchman one learns that it only does so as if it were angry. Only Finn knows that she really is a nice vampire. She reveals to him that vampires must drink no blood, but only something red-colored. Her two bite marks on the neck indicate that it was once a man, but is referenced in several episodes that she is the daughter of the vampire king.
- BMO ( Beemo ) is a talking video game console with Finn and Jake. Beemo can transport people in video games and has to be functions of other devices, for example, it can be a camera, a VCR or an alarm clock.

Toys
The toy manufacturer Jazwares published 2011 an assortment of two, five, ten and 20-inch licensed action figures for the series. Furthermore, " Grow Your Own" characters were introduced to the market, which will increase more than 500 percent when immersed in water. For cosplayers Jazwares produced a 24-inch " Finn Sword".
Comics
November 2011 announced BOOM! Studios plans for a comic book series, which is to be written by the creator of Dinosaur Comics Ryan North and drawn by Braden Lamb and Shelli Paroline. In February 2012, released in the U.S. the first edition, the limited editions are published monthly since then.
In April 2012, gave BOOM! Studios announced that a spin-off comic book series titled Adventure Time in July of the same year: Marceline and the Scream Queens is published. The offshoot is written by Meredith Gran (Octopus Pie ) and illustrated. The contents of the comics have grown up around the 1000 year old vampire girl Marceline and Princess Bubblegum.
Video game
A system based on the video game series was announced by Pendleton Ward on his Twitter account. The game titled Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd you steal our garbage? was developed by WayForward Technologies for Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS and published in autumn 2012 by D3 Publisher.

In the U.S., the first season was erstausgestrahlt from 5 April to 27 September 2010 at the U.S. cable channel Cartoon Network. The second season was shown on 11 October 2010 to 9 May 2011. The third season was aired from 11 July 2011 to February 13, 2012. The fourth season was aired on April 2, 2012 to October 22, 2012. A fifth series has been running since the 12th of November 2012.
In Germany, the broadcast of the series began on 15 January 2011 on the pay- TV channel Cartoon Network Germany and since February 4, 2012, on free TV to cable one.
