Cartoon Network Studios

Cartoon Network Studios, formerly known as Hanna -Barbera Cartoons, Inc. is an animation studio founded by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, which for over 40 years producing television cartoons.

Foundation

Hanna and Barbera worked for the first time at the Metro -Goldwyn -Mayer animation studios in 1939. Their first work as a director was a cartoon entitled Puss Gets the Boot ( 1940), considered the birth of the popular cartoon series Tom and Jerry. Hanna, Barbera, and MGM - director George Sidney founded Hanna -Barbera Productions in 1944, while the studio work, and used this company to handle additional projects, such as early television commercials and the first original opening titles of I Love Lucy.

After winning eight Oscars, MGM closed its animation studio in 1957. Hanna and Barbera took over most of the staff in their Hanna -Barbera production. It was in 1957 a full production company. They decided to specialize in television cartoons. Their first studio series was The Ruff & Reddy Show, the premiere of which was in December 1957 on NBC. Television productions

Hanna -Barbera was the first animation studio, the successful animated cartoons produced for television; previously were the cartoons on television usually a repeat of cinema cartoons.
