Affinity (Band)

Affinity was an English jazz-rock band that was active from 1968 to 1971.

History

1968 Affinity of Lynton Naiff (keyboards), Grant Serpell (drums) and Mo Foster ( bass) was established, which had already been made as a student since 1965 in various bands playing music together. As a guitarist, they won Mike Jopp, singer of the group was Linda Hoyle. The band name they chose based on the eponymous album by Oscar Peterson.

Your first appearances they had in October 1968. Ronnie Scott took over their management and gave them a record deal with Vertigo Records. 1970, her album Affinity, which received good reviews. Before they could take their second album in attack, Hoyle left the group in early 1971.

Mid-1971 there was a new start with Vivienne McAuliffe as a singer and keyboard player Dave Watts - Naiff had meanwhile otherwise inclined. However, it came to the final resolution, as Jopp, Foster and Serpell were committed by Mike d'Abo as an accompanist for his American tour.
