Agave parviflora is a species of the genus Agave ( Agave ). The specific epithet is derived from the Latin parviflora words for parvus, small ' well - florus for, - flowered ' from. Agave parviflora has the smallest flowers in the genus. An English common name is "Small Flower Century Plant".

Description

Agave parviflora grows singly or many-headed. The small rosette of leaves reached at diameters of 15 to 40 centimeters in stature heights of 10 to 15 centimeters. The green leaf blade is 6 to 15 inches long and 0.8 to 1.6 inches wide. It is marked with conspicuous white stripes. There are white fibers at the leaf margins. The weak pfriemliche Enddorn is 5-8 millimeters long.

Systematics and distribution

Agave parviflora is distributed in the United States in the state of Arizona and the Mexican state of Sonora and on stony slopes in grasslands and open woodlands at altitudes 650-1500 m. It is associated with Yucca schottii and various cacti species.

The first description by John Torrey was published in 1859. A synonym is Agave hartmanii S.Watson (1891 ).

The species belongs to the subgenus Littaea and there is the Parviflorae group assigned.
