Agios Georgios (Greek Άγιος Γεώργιος ) was, until 2010, the easternmost municipality of the Thessaloniki Prefecture in Central Macedonia. It was formed in 1997 and named after a chapel of Saint George in the hills of Kerdylion mountain. With the administrative reform in May 2010 ( Kallikratis program) the community of the newly created municipality Volvi was attached, which is managed by the south adjacent to Agios Georgios Stavros place. In this community since it forms the municipality of Agios Georgios.

The municipality consists of the villages of Asprovalta and Nea Vrasna. Geographically, the area lies on the Gulf of Orfanou ( Strymonic golf) at the foot of the mountain Kerdylio.

During the summer, the population swells by many holiday guests who have holiday homes here many times. Traffic Technically Agios Georgios is connected by Highway 2 and the bus network of Thessaloniki. The number of Greeks with German knowledge is high, as is the proportion of people living in Germany Greeks who own a property in the community.

Sights are next to the more than 30 km long sandy beach, the chapel of St. George, the trails on the 1092 m high mountain Kerdylion and the ancient place Argilos.
