Agrippa (astronomer)

Agrippa was an astronomer of antiquity.

According to Ptolemy, he observed in the third hour of the night on the 7th day of the month Bithynian Metroos in the 12th year of the reign of Domitian (ie 92 AD), a cover of the star Alkione in the Pleiades by the Moon.

Ptolemy mentioned this observation in connection with the determination of the precession of the equinox.

Proclus cites of Agrippa carried out measurements of the lengths of fixed stars.

The lunar crater is named after Agrippa Agrippa.
