Ágúst Hauksson

Ágúst Friðrik Hauksson ( born September 11, 1960) is a former Icelandic football player. The defender was substituted in 1980 when international match against Iceland Greenland. It was his only game.

Sports career

Hauksson began his footballing career in the late 1970s at Þróttur Reykjavík. In the club, who played from 1978 in the highest Icelandic league, he spent three years as a regular player, so he took his leave of the Icelandic U- 19 and U -21 for a brief appearance in the senior team. However, the performance against Greenland (final score 4-1 ) remained the only 'A' game in his career and his move in 1981 to Fram Reykjavik following the descent of Þróttur brought him while a runner, but shortly afterwards he returned to the now second-rate Þróttur back.

Between 1983 and 1991 he played in unterklassigen Norwegian football clubs, including Kopervik IL, SK Vard Haugesund, IL trio and Rosendal TL included. Then it moved again to its Hauksson Icelandic home and there he stood again in the service of his still active in the second tier ex- club Þróttur Reykjavík. Last known stations were back in Norway Averøykameratene IL (1997), Stord IL (1998-2000 ) and again IL Trio ( 2003).
