Agustín Zaragoza

Agustín Zaragoza ( born August 18, 1941 in San Luis Potosí ) is a retired Mexican boxer. Zaragoza was bronze medalist of the Pan American Games in 1967 and 1971 and the Olympic Games in 1968.

Career

1967, Zaragoza for the first time at an international championship, the Pan American Games, in part. In these he won after a semi-final defeat against Rolando Garbey, Cuba, the bronze medal in the light middleweight ( 71kg - ). The same position he won at the Olympic Games 1968 in the middleweight ( 75kg). After victories over Oliver Wright, Jamaica (5-0 ), and Jan Hejduk, Czechoslovakia (4:1), he lost in the semifinals against Alexei Kiselyov, Soviet Union ( TKO 1 ).

The Central American and Caribbean Games in 1970 Zaragoza won the gold medal and 1971 at the Pan American Games in turn the bronze medal.
