Ahi (political party)

Achi ( אח"י, lit., My brother, and acronym for Eretz Chevra Jahadut ( ארץ חברה יהדות ), lit. Country, society, Judaism ) was a right-wing Zionist party in Israel.

History

The party was founded on 21 March 2005, when Effi Eitam and Yitzhak Levy, the National Religious Party ( NRP) left to the 16th Knesset during the parliamentary elections in 2003. She was then from 2006 to 2008 part of the National Union.

December 23, 2008 Achi left the National Union. For the parliamentary elections of 2009 Achi was part of the electoral list of the Likud, with Shalom Lerner were the 45th place of the choice list on the 39th and Edmund Hasin. Since Likud won only 28 seats, but no Achi candidate could enter the Knesset.
