The University of Education, Aichi (Japanese爱 知 教育 大学, Aichi Kyoiku daigaku; engl Aichi University of Education, in short: Aikyōdai (爱 教 大). ) Is a public educational college in Japan. It is located in Kariya, Aichi prefecture.

History

The college was founded in 1949 by the merger of three state normal schools. The three were:

  • The First Normal School Aichi (爱 知 第一 师范学校, Aichi dai -ichi shihan Gakko, in Nagoya, founded in 1873 ),
  • The Second Normal School Aichi (爱 知 第二 师范学校, Aichi dai -ni shihan Gakko, in Toyokawa, founded in 1899 ), and
  • Youth Normal School Aichi (爱 知 青年 师范学校, Aichi his shihan Gakko, in Anjo, founded in 1918 ).

First Normal School Aichi

The First Normal School was founded in 1873 in Nagoya, Aichi prefectural as a teacher training college. Over the years, they renamed themselves some time; In 1899 she was (爱 知 県 第一 师范学校, Aichi-ken dai -ichi shihan Gakko ) renamed prefectural First Normal School Aichi. Developed in 1912, the Department of women to prefectural Women's Normal School Aichi. In 1943 the men 's and women's normal schools were merged into the state First Normal School Aichi.

Second Normal School Aichi

The Second Normal School was founded in 1899 in Okazaki Aichi prefectural as Second Normal School Aichi. In 1923 she was in Präfekurale Normal School Okazaki (爱 知 県 冈 崎 师范学校, Aichi-ken Okazaki shihan Gakko ) renamed. In 1943, she was promoted to the Second State Normal School Aichi. In July 1945, during the Pacific War, the school buildings of the men's department were destroyed; the men's department moved to Toyokawa, in a former military base in order.

Youth Normal School Aichi

The Youth Normal School was founded in 1918 as a prefectural educational institution for the training of agricultural teachers. In 1935 she became a training college for teachers at the youth schools. In 1944 she was elevated to the state youth -Normal School Aichi.

Aichi University of Education

The University was opened as the College of Liberal Arts Aichi (爱 知 学 芸 大学, Aichi Gakugei daigaku ). She had first three Zweigcampusse in Nagoya, Toyokawa (from 1950 Okazaki ) and Anjo ( closed in 1952 ). In 1966 it was renamed the College of Education, Aichi. 1970, the present campus was opened in Kariya and given up campuses in Nagoya and Okazaki. Since 1977, Master's programs are offered, since 2012 the university has the right to award doctorates (the latter only in cooperation with the University of Shizuoka ). In addition to teacher training courses and study programs of Modern Liberal Arts and Sciences have been offered since 1987.

The PH Aichi has six affiliated schools (elementary and middle school in Nagoya, elementary school, middle school and special school in Okazaki, High School in Kariya ) and a kindergarten in Nagoya.

The University of Education, Aichi currently maintains (2014) international partnerships with 20 universities in Asia, Europe and America. In German-speaking countries since 2006, there is a partnership with the University of Education Freiburg.
