Aiko (singer)

Aiko Yanai (柳 井 爱 子jap, Yanai Aiko, born November 22, 1975 in Suita ), known by her stage name aiko, is a J- pop singer and songwriter. Their music consists mainly of love songs, the record of success, especially in the young female target group. She was elected in a poll by the official chart publisher Oricon most popular Japanese singer 2005 and 2006.

Musical Career

Aiko completed her studies in 1996 at the Osaka College of Music and was subsequently radio presenter at FM Osaka. Her debut as a singer she made in 1998 with the single Ashita. Since then, their songs have been used mainly in various television series and commercials.

With their third single Hanabi she succeeded for the first time of entry into the Top 10 of the Japanese charts and her subsequent second studio album, Sakura no Ki no Shita were already sold over a million copies. Their sixth single Boyfriend is her biggest-selling song so far. She got an invitation to the famous Japanese music show Kohaku Uta Gassen in 2000.
