Aintree (literally, from Old English: a tree ) is a town with 7,126 inhabitants ( 2006) in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton in Merseyside in the UK. The site is adjacent to the city of Liverpool and is known worldwide as the venue for the Grand National horse race.
