Aivaras Bendžius

Aivaras Bendžius ( born January 26, 1993) is a Lithuanian professional ice hockey again plays Energia Elektrėnai since 2013.

Career

Clubs

Aivaras Bendžius began his career at the youth field at the Lithuanian giants Energia Elektrenai, for which he gave in 2009 as a 16- year-old made ​​his debut in the Latvian Hockey League. In 2012 he became Lithuanian Champion with SC Energia. In the Latvian league there was only enough funds to places. After winning the Lithuanian league title Bendžius joined the Finnish club Ilves Tampere, for which he was mainly active in the highest Finnish junior league. Once he was, however, also used in the SM- liiga. Even before the end of the season the then 20 -year-old returned to Elektrėnai and won again in 2013 the Lithuanian league title with the team in his hometown. Since the season 2013/14 in Latvia practically unrivaled team plays in the Wysschaja League, the second highest Belarusian league.

Internationally

For Lithuania Bendžius participated already at junior level at the World Championships. Here he succeeded in the Division II tournament of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2010 with his team's promotion to the Division I.

His debut in the Lithuanian men's national team, he was at the World Championship Division I in 2012 as the Lithuanians were able to avoid relegation to Division II narrowly by a 3-2 win in the deciding game against Australia. In 2013 he stood for Lithuania at the World Championship Division I on the ice.

He also took part in the qualification for the Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi. However, the Lithuanian team failed here in the first qualifying round.
