The train station in Aix- en- Provence TGV is a through station in Cabriès at Aix -en- Provence.

It has two platform tracks and two drive-through tracks. The station is located on the LGV Méditerranée. Daily train there for several TGVs, including the TGV Duplex. In the summer there, there is also the Thalys. Most trains go either to Marseille St- Charles or to the Gare de Lyon in Paris.

Location

The train station is about 16 km southwest of Aix -en- Provence and 12 km north-east of Vitrolles away. It is located at kilometer 699 of the LGV Méditerranée.

History

After the SNCF had decided to set up a TGV trains stop for the city of Aix -en- Provence, the new line was built further east than originally planned. By and by bus lines have been established which connect the station to the surrounding cities. Nevertheless, because most passengers are traveling by car, parking is often crowded. Therefore, another underground parking lot was built in 2009, a total of 2910 courses are now available, but there are still regular 900 cars outside the parking.

Operation

The station is served by 120 trains per day. There are train connections to Paris, Marseille, Nice, Ventimiglia, Toulon, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Lille-Europe, Rennes, Nantes and Dijon. Since March 2012 there is a TGV train pair that connects the station to Frankfurt am Main in 7:31 hours.
