Ajami script

As Adschami font ( from Arabic عجمي, DMG ʿ Agami, foreign, non- Arab ', see also ʿ Adscham ) are called applications of the Arabic script for other languages ​​than Arabic.

This term refers mainly to African languages ​​such as Hausa, Fulfulde, Wolof, Malinke, Mandinka, Bambara, Songhai, Kanuri, Swahili and Somali, which are partly written for centuries in the Arabic alphabet, as well as the literature that in this document was written. Today, many of these African languages ​​are mainly written in Latin script.

The use of the Arabic script for Somali is also called Wadaad font.
