Akasha

Akash ( Sanskrit: आकाश Akasa also Akasha, akasa and akaça; Pali: Akasa ) stands for space or ether.

Hinduism / Ayurveda

In Hindu philosophy and in Ayurveda called Akasha ( ' Ether' ) next to Prithvi ( ' earth '), Vayu ( ' air '), Agni ( ' fire ') and Jalam ( ' water ') one of the five elements (see Vaisheshika ).

Buddhism

In the comments of Buddhism Akasa place as a term for two types of space: The physicality through the " limited space " ( Akasa - dhatu ) and the " unlimited space " ( ajatākāsa ) space. In many Sutras of the physicality belonging "limited space " in the group of six eastern elements ( solid, liquid, be heated, airy element, space element, consciousness element ) is listed as the " unlimited space ", just like the time has no reality.
