Akatsuki Kambayashi

Kambayashi Akatsuki (Japanese上林 暁, civil: Tokuhiro Iwaki (徳 广 巌 城also simplifies :徳 広 巌 城), born October 6, 1902 in Tanokuchi, Hata -gun (now Kuroshio ), Kōchi Prefecture; † 28 August 1980) was a Japanese writer.

Life

At the end of his school days in 1922 Akatsuki Kambayashi moved to Kumamoto in the district Kambayashi, whence also stirred his pseudonym. He studied English Literature to 1927 at the University of Tokyo. After that he started from the publisher Kaizo (改造) to work. Kamabayashi published until his death more than 200 short stories and short stories. Donald Keene shares Kambayashis work in 3 major topics: stories whose plot occurred in his native Shikoku, stories that have his wife's illness to the object (eg Be Yohane byōin nite, 1946聖 ヨハネ 病院 にて) and narratives, in which his younger sister takes center stage.

Kambayashi received the 1964 Yomiuri Prize for Shiroi yakatabune, 1969, he was a member of the Academy of Fine Arts of Japan (日本 芸 术 院, Nihon Geijutsuin ) and in 1974 he received the Yasunari Kawabata Prize for Literature.
