History

Åkersberga has a relatively short history and owes its origin mainly to the establishment of the railway line Södra Roslags Kustbana and close to Stockholm. 1901 a railway station was established at the farm Berga. To avoid confusion with other places of the same name, the station was called " Åkers Berga " because it was located in the former management zone " Åkers skeppslag ". Later it developed from it the present name. Until shortly after the Second World War, the area around the station had grown into an urban settlement.

Traffic

By Åkersberga the Länsväg 276 runs with the designated as Roslagsbanan line L28, which in the district Österskär has its end point, the place is connected to the public transport network in Stockholm.
