Akiko Itoyama

Akiko Itoyama (Japanese丝 山 秋 子, Itoyama Akiko, born November 22, 1966 in Setagaya ) is a Japanese writer.

Itoyama studied Political Science and Economics at Waseda University and then worked as a saleswoman for a home goods retailers. In 2004 she received for the novel Fukurokōji no otoko to Yasunari Kawabata Prize for Literature, in the following year for Oki de matsu after three consecutive nominations the Akutagawa Prize.
