Akutagawa Prize
The Akutagawa Prize (Japanese Akutagawa Ryunosuke芥川龙之介 赏shō ) is the most prestigious award for Japanese -speaking authors. The donated by Kikuchi Kan Prize has been awarded since 1935 twice a year in January and in July, is worth 1 million yen and has for the Japanese literature the same meaning, such as the Prix Goncourt for French literature. Named the Akutagawa Prize by the Japanese writer Akutagawa Ryunosuke.
