Mishima Yukio Prize

The Mishima Prize (Japanese三岛 由 纪 夫 赏, Mishima Yukio Shō ) is awarded in memory of the Japanese writer Yukio Mishima by the publisher Shinchosha.

The publisher Shinchosha awarded originally 1954 to 1967 the Shinchosha Literature Prize (新潮社 文学 赏, Shinchosha Bungakushō ) and then from 1969 to 1987 the Grand Prix for Japanese literature (日本 文学 大 赏, Nihon Bungaku Daisho ). This commitment is the publisher since 1988 continued with the annual award of the Mishima Prize. The prize is awarded for novels (小说), literature reviews / essays (评论), poetry (诗歌) and dramas (戏曲). The selection committee will be appointed for a period of 4 years.
