Akram Khan (dancer)

Akram Khan (born 29 July 1974 in London ) is a British dancer and choreographer. By Bangladeshi origin of his family, he sat apart already as a child with the Indian dance style Kathak. Later he was also involved in contemporary dance, including at De Montfort University and the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. In 2000, Khan founded his own dance company with which he was invited to guest performances worldwide.

Khan was one of the choreographers of the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games in 2012.
