Al Boasberg

Al Boasberg ( born December 5, 1892 in Buffalo, NY, † June 18, 1937 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American author, gag writer and director of comedies.

Born the son of a jeweler from Buffalo, he managed with some 30 years, establishing itself as a busy writer jokes of various sizes show. His clients included George Burns, Fred Allen and Jack Benny. In 1926 he drove in Hollywood gags for films of Buster Keaton at ( Battling Butler, The General and College). Later, in times of talkies, he worked as Gagman for the Marx Brothers. In addition, he directed several short films and feature-length comedy Myrt and Marge (1933 ) with the Three Stooges. In 1936 he worked as head writer for Jack Benny's radio show. He died in 1937 at the age of 45 at his home from the effects of a heart attack.
