He founded the theory of quadratic equations. He also was able to show that it is possible some equations of higher degree traced to quadratic equations. His two- part work al - Fahri was influenced by the book Arithmetica of Diophantus of Alexandria. He also draws on statements by the mathematician Abu Kamil. In al - Fahri he will deal with the solutions of quadratic equations. Also, the evidence of a sum formula for the sum of consecutive cubes goes back to al - Karadschi. He used the full induction.

His results are only partially preserved in the writings of others ( Al- Samawal ), for example, his introduction of Pascal's triangle.
