Ath - Thaura (formerly al - Tabqah, Arabic الثورة, DMG AT Taura ) is a Syrian town located in the province of ar - Raqqah, about 55 km west of the city of ar - Raqqah.

Ath - Thaura was formerly known as al - Taqbah. The name " ath - Thaura " literally means " the revolution ", following the Revolution of March 8, when the total Arab Baath party in reality a coup took power in Syria, together with the Baath Party in Iraq.
