Alabama Slammers

The Alabama Slammers were an American ice hockey team from Pelham, Alabama. The team played in the 2003/04 season in the World Hockey Association 2

History

The team was founded in 2003 as a franchise of the World Hockey Association inaugural 2. In her only season the Slammers took second place the WHA2 after the regular season. However, in the subsequent playoffs they lost in the first round of the Macon Trax with a sweep in the best- of-three series. Head coach of the Alabama Slammers was Canadian Garry Unger, who had contested as an active player for several years in the National Hockey League. When the league was disbanded after one year again, put the Slammers a game operation.
