Alan Foggon

Alan Foggon ( born February 23, 1950 in West Pelton, Chester -le-Street, County Durham ) is a former English footballer. Foggon was known for his speed and his powerful shot.

Career

Foggon started his professional career at Newcastle United, where he was able to achieve 14 goals in 61 games in about four years. He made his debut in a 0-0 draw against Arsenal. After the 1971 season, he moved to Cardiff City, where he was able to celebrate a goal is scored in seventeen games. He then moved to Middlesbrough FC, where he had his most prolific period with 45 goals in 115 games. In 1976, he moved for a short time each to the Hartford Bicentennials and the Rochester Lancers. That same year, then signed him Manchester United. There, however, he only played three games before he moved to Sunderland AFC due to poor performance. From the time at Manchester he could achieve only two goals in a total of four clubs in 51 games. It was said that he had always been at the wrong time at the wrong place at this time.

He finished his career at the clubs Consett AFC and FC Whitley Bay.
