Alan Paul

Alan Paul ( born November 23, 1949 in Newark, New Jersey) is an American singer, composer and arranger, known as a member of the vocal group The Manhattan Transfer.

Life and work

Alan Paul grew up in a musical family. At the age of nine he won a national singing competition with over 500 participants. By winning, he came in contact with Charlie Lowe, where he took lessons in singing. As a child he played in the original Broadway version of Oliver! with.

After high school, Alan began studying at the Kean University, where he graduated with a Bachelor in Music Education. After graduation, he continued to focus on his career as an entertainer. His next major role was that of Teen Angel and Johnny Casino in the original Broadway version of Grease.

In 1972 he came into contact with Tim Hauser, who convinced him to become a member transfer in the newly formed vocal group Manhattan. With Manhattan Transfer he was ten times awarded the Grammy.
