Castle Kalesi the Alara River

The Alara Kalesi is a castle about 37 kilometers west of the Turkish city of Alanya in Antalya Province. The plant was built to the Byzantine period, then was western outpost of the Kingdom of Lesser Armenia and later had the purpose to ensure the safety of overhauling caravans. The castle is located on a steep hill on the Alara River, and was almost impregnable. However, it fell to the Seljuks in 1232 in his hands as the lord gave, after he had learned that the city of Alanya Kai Kobad I. had fallen into their hands.
