Geographical location

The Alaska Peninsula (english Alaska Peninsula ), as part of the mainland of Alaska (USA ) has a long peninsula, connected to the western extension of the Aleutian Islands.

Between the Bristol Bay, a part of the Bering Sea, to the north and the actual North Pacific Ocean in the south it extends to about 800 km in length towards the west, where the entire length of the Alaska Peninsula - the numerous volcanoes - such as on the Aleutian Island chain landscape determine. The peninsula are upstream hundreds of islands and islets.

On the peninsula there are the Katmai National Park and Preserve, the Aniakchak National Monument and Preserve, the Becharof National Wildlife Refuge, the Alaska Peninsula National Wildlife Refuge and the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge.
