Albert Beier

Albert "Ali" Beier ( born September 28, 1900 in Lokstedt, † September 21, 1972 in Hamburg ) was a German football player. He played on the position of right-back. His playing style was a very strong body and sturdy.

Career

Beier began his footballing career at Eintracht Lokstedt. After four years at FC Union 03 Altona in 1921, he moved finally to Hamburger SV. His first success in the Hanseatic League he won in 1922 when he won the North German Championship and reached the final of the German Cup. This was indeed counted in favor of HSV after two draws against 1 FC Nuremberg at the green table, but the latter decides on the title.

In October 1922 Beier made ​​his debut in the North German national team at the Federal Cup. At the end of the season was also again the North German championship title as well as the first official championship title after a 3-0 victory over Union Oberschoeneweide. In the season 1923/1924 he was with the HSV for the third time in a row, North German masters. In the German Cup, he reached with the HSV just the third time in the finals series, this time they lost against the 1st FCN 0-2.
