Albert Bogen

Albert bow, hungarian Bógathy Albert ( born April 8, 1882 in Kikinda, † July 14, 1961 in Budapest) was a fencer, who competed in the Olympics for both Austria and Hungary.

Life

Albert arc took part in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm, with the Austrian team saber fencer he reached the final against the Hungarians, the Austrians lost 11-5. Albert bow, Rudolf Cvetko, Friedrich Golling, Otto Herschmann, Andreas Suttner, Reinhold Trampler and Richard Verderber won the silver medal. In individual competition bow dropped out in the second round.

Albert arc was an officer of the Imperial u. k Army. After the First World War Bow participated in the Hungarian citizenship and changed his name later in Bógathy. At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 he was a member of the Hungarian fencer team that was eliminated in the preliminary round against the United States and Egypt.

Albert arc belongs to the Norwegian sailors Eugen Lunde and the German hockey player Erwin Keller of the few Olympic medalists whose children and grandchildren were also medalists. Born 1906 daughter Erna bow won bronze in 1932 with the foil. She married in 1938 Aladar Gerevich, the Olympics with seven gold medals at the Olympic Games from 1932 to 1960 successful Olympic fencers at all. Both son Pál Gerevich won bronze in 1972 and 1980 with the saber.
