Albert Friedrich Speer

Albert Friedrich Speer ( born May 6, 1863 in Dortmund, † March 31, 1947 in Heidelberg ) was a German architect.

Life

Speer studied in Berlin and Munich architecture. From 1892 to 1923 he maintained his own architectural office in Mannheim. Its to be found mainly in the greater Mannheim buildings are stylistically influenced by Art Nouveau and Neoclassicism.

His marriage to Luise Wilhelmine Mathilde Hommel three sons were born, among them the architect and Nazi politician Albert Speer. The painter Conrad Hommel was his brother in law, whose daughter Eva van Hoboken his niece.
