Albert Londres Prize

The Albert Londres Prize is the most prestigious journalism prize in France. It was first awarded in 1933 and since then annually for the best documentary in the French-language print media. Since 1985 there are outstanding audiovisual documentation an award of the same name.

History

The daughter of Albert Londres, Londres Florise Martinet, has decreed at his death, that is awarded annually ever on May 16 in his memory a prize for the best reportage performance. They organized themselves responsible over the decades, this institution of the French media landscape.

After her death in 1975, the price of the " Association du prix Albert Londres ", which together took off previous winners, was continued. Since May 2006 Josette Alia is president of the committee.

Under the influence of documentary filmmaker Henri de Turenne an eponymous award for outstanding documentaries in radio, television and cinema was established in 1985. Organisers of this part is the " société civile des auteurs multimédia " ( SCAM ), a professional association of documentary filmmakers.

The jury consists of nineteen journalists, and the winners of the previous year respectively. The investigative journalist must not be older than 40 years.
