Albert Paulig

Albert Paulig ( born January 14, 1873 in Stollberg / Erzgeb; . † March 19, 1933 in Berlin) was a German film actor.

Life

Albert Paulig was in the 1910s and 1920s, a popular performer of the German silent cinema.

He attended a teacher training college and received a musical education at the Conservatory of Dresden. He worked as a merchant in 1896 and gave his stage debut at the Stadttheater of Zwickau. More Stage stations were Łódź, Hannover and Dresden. In 1901 he first came to Berlin in the German -American theater. Then he guested at various other stages in Berlin.

At the age of 40 years Paulig was discovered as a comic actor. Due to his success he got in the 1910s his own series, the Albert Paulig series. These films wore simple titles such as Albert Asta Nielsen and Albert has power of attorney. In the film Alberts pants Paulig also led director.

Between the films in his series, he also starred in other films, including married into the company and the pride of the company, both with Ernst Lubitsch. After leaving Albert Paulig Series 1919 his popularity was in the 1920s with the public continues unabated. With the beginning of the sound film Paulig was able to continue his career and has starred in films such as The Testament of Cornelius Gulden and Manolescou, the prince of thieves.

K1 intervenes was his last film. The performance desselbigen he did not live. On March 19, 1933 Albert Paulig died in Berlin of a heart attack two days after K1 intervenes censorship had happened.
