Alberto Kalach

Alberto Calah ( born 1960 in Mexico City) is a Mexican architect.

Calah studied architecture at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and Cornell University in Ithaca. From 1981 to 2002 he worked together with Daniel Álvarez in the common architectural firm Taller de Arquitectura X (TAX ).

His projects include numerous designs in solo and group exhibitions, including those who stood out in 1985 for the realization of the Museum of Modern Art in Bonn, the Mexican designs for the Opéra Bastille and 1996 for the Hartell Gallery in New York, as well as his landscape architectural designs in the same year.

The urban planning problems of his home town developed into one of his main interests, which is why he the collective " México: ciudad futura " (engl.: "Mexico: Future City " ) founded. Since then he has implemented a variety of large-scale community projects, among his colleagues renowned architects such as Teodoro González de León, Gustavo Lipkau and José Castillo. His proposals for representative lakes in the urban planning designs are indicative of the solution of the water supply problems as they exist in Mexico City.

Calah published numerous articles in national and international architectural journals. Calah is one of the project " Vuelta a la ciudad lacustrine " (engl.: "return to Lake City " ) participating architects.
