Alberto Massimino

Alberto Massimino (* 1895 in Turin, † 1975 in Modena ) was an Italian car and engine designer.

Alberto Massimino studied after the First World War engineering in Switzerland. In 1924 he came to Fiat, where he succeeded by Vittorio Jano, who had migrated to Alfa Romeo. After a brief stint at Alfa Romeo and the Stabilimenti Farina of Turin came in 1939 Scuderia Ferrari. For now Massiminio was responsible for the maintenance of the race cars and worked with Gioacchino Colombo at the Alfetta. When Enzo Ferrari started in 1938 to create his own race cars, Massimino constructed the first Ferrari racing car ever, the Type 815, which was first used in 1940 at the Mille Miglia.

After his departure from Ferrari he built for Maserati important racing cars such as the Maserati 4CLT and the Maserati 250F and the street sports car Maserati A6. Massimino returned in the 1950s, back to Ferrari and worked until his retirement yet for Stanguellini, De Tomaso, Moretti and the Scuderia Serenissima.
