Aldomirovtsi

Aldomirowzi (also written Aldomirovtsi, Bulgarian Алдомировци ) is a village in the municipality Sliwniza, Sofia Province in western Bulgaria.

Location

The village lies west of the middle of the Sofiaebene Sliwniza surveys, about 28 km north-west of the Bulgarian capital Sofia. The community center Sliwniza is 4 km away. Nearby is the town of Dragoman.

About 2 km from the village is the Aldomirowzi station on the railway line Sofia - Kalotina - Pirot - Niš. Also the Aldomirowzi Lake is nearby.

History

During the Serbian -Bulgarian War of 1885 /86, the front line ran directly to the village. In preparing for the decisive battle of the Bulgarian Army Sliwniza built in the surrounding hills trenches and redoubts for artillery, which were occupied by the Preslav and the Razgrad Regiment. On 6 Novemberjul. / 18 November 1885greg. the village and the Bulgarian positions were attacked by Serb forces Šumadija and the Drina Division. The Bulgarians were able to maintain their positions and the following day the Serbs hit back with a counter-offensive.

, Operated by the Bulgarian Communist collectivism of agriculture and the state-mandated planned economy led to the exodus of the population, particularly in the direction of Sofia. In recent years, however, here to settle again to young families.

Today in the village do the primary school " Ivan Vazov ", a health center and a post office.
